The only downside: my insurance won't cover any of it. Everything is out of pocket. The first appt. with medications = $450. This is a lot and luckily I had the student loan money to cover it. I think that this doctor is doing some wonderful things and is making it so that I can be more functional, that my thyroid can be normalized and my weight can go down. Of course, quality of life is tantamount. I am trying to remain positive that this will work for me.

There's a light...
So I have finally found a doctor who will prescribe the desperately needed natural thyroid. I was on Synthroid and after 6 months my TSH was still too high. TSH level high=low thyroid uptake. My energy level was extremely low and my weight just kept going up.

I'm in love with Mary Jane...
So I finally found something that helps my pain! It's not a total fix/cure but couldn't believe the difference. I had run out of options and then I decided to try something I never thought I would try in my wildest dreams, p-o-t. Yes, the goody-two-shoes smoked marijiuna. It was like someone finally turned the volume down on my pain and my muscles finally released (didn't know that they were so clenched until they released) . I was relaxed before but not like this. The only down side was the whole "smoking" thing. I hacked and coughed and kicked up my asthma. I didn't want to smoke it but the only other option was to get a lot of it and bake something but I didn't want to buy enough to do that considering price and legal ramifications so I opted for the smoking just to see if it would help.
Now that I know it helps, I am going to a pain specialist to try some of the legal pill forms of the active ingredients to see if that helps. Cross your fingers that I have found something that finally works. If the pills don't work, I will apply for a legal medicinal marijiuna license and go that route.
